DEMIGODS & THE SUPREME BEING

  Dear Reader’s,

Let’s understand the difference between the demigods and the supreme being.

All the gods are demigods as the Lord Krishna is the Supreme
But let’s understand about some of the main demigods who are worshipped by people considering as the   supreme:

Brahma was born from a lotus which grew from the Navel of Vishnu before the formation of the universe.
That is how Brahma gets one of his names 'Nabhija', which means born from the stomach.

Brahma is depicted as having four heads, faces and arms. Each of his head chants one of the Vedas (Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, Atharveda). Brahma's vehicle is a Swan, a holy bird which can differentiate good from evil. Brahma is considered to be the Creator of the entire universe
He is represented as an old man to show the never-ending nature.
One day Shiva was not happy with Brahma being smitten by his own creation (hankering after a female girl created by himself) and directed that no one will worship Brahma. Therefore Brahma is not worshipped and also has only one temple in the whole world in Pushkar ji.

Shiva is called the destroyer,  has four hands, four faces and three eyes in each face. The third eye always        keep power to destroy the creation.

In the Vedas, a collection of ancient sacred texts, God Shiva is also called the storm god Rudra. Shiva’s vehicle is Nandi (a bull). Shiva was born from the center of the eyes of Brahma ji. He is the param Vaishnava always  being concentrated on worshippping Lord Krishna.

Durga Mata (Shera wali Mata), is a devi with eighteen arms, carrying various weapons in each hand and riding a ferocious lion. She is the protection goddess, and is one of the most angry and aggressive forms, who fights and conquers demons wearing red clothes.

she has various names like Kali “the black” , Chandi “the fierce”, Bhairavi, "the terrible."Uma, Gauri; Parvati and Jagatmata, "The-Mother-Of-The-World". Also Mata Vaishno devi, is the collective spiritual strength of Mata Lakshmi, Kali and Saraswati. She is called the Maya deva, and her duty is to keep the prisoners of the material world here only.

Hanuman Ji is the son of Vayu, the God of Wind. He is humble yet very brave. His divine strength, mental discipline and spiritual purity have made him extremely popular in Hindus all over the world. He is the incarnation of Lord Shiva as a monkey. The birth was by the blessings of God Pavan, who thus became     Hanuman's father and Hanuman is named as PavanPutra.

He was a great devotee as we all know of Lord Rama in Treta yuga and chanted the name of Lord Rama till      Dvapar yuga to meet him again and finally he met Lord Krishna as it is in the Dvapar Yuga. He illustrates the  true example of a great devotee for all of us.

Shani Dev, is the son of Surya dev (Son of Brahma ji) and Sandna (Daughter of Daksh Prajapati), has three brothers Yamraj ji (Also a great devotee of Lord Krishna himself),  Manu ji and Ashwani ji and two sisters Yamuna ji and Tapti ji, guru of Shani dev is God Shiva.

Shani dev is a great devotee of Lord Krishna and this duty to punish the people of their misdeeds was given to him by Lord Krishna himself when he appeared to him as it is after being felicitous from his bhakti.

So, this was all about the briefing about the main demigods who are worshipped by people as the supreme. Actually in Kaliyuga, people make a demigod as their supreme if their material wishes are fulfilled. But even the demigods have to worship the Lord to get the sight of him.

Please follow the link to know deeply about the supreme Lord Krishna.

So, let’s read a true story now.

TRUE STORY

Junagad was an ancient Guajarati town, which was culturally advanced.  Narshima Mehta was a Brahmin by birth and was born in Junagad. He lost his parents when he was seven. He was a great devotee of God Shiva.  Narshi went into the temple and embraced the Shivalinga and cried out, ”Shiva,  Shankara, Mahadeva, Neelakanda” and prostrated (bowed down) in front of him. He became totally engrossed (engaged) with the lord that, Narshi started meditating on Lord shiva. Seven days passed. He didn’t eat anything and didn’t feel anything. He kept chanting the Panchakshara mantra “Namashivaya”. Lord shiva on seeing Narshi’s unwavering bhakthi and vairagya revealed himself and said to him, ”My child, I am pleased with your bhakthi. Tell me what your heart desires.”
Narshi embraced the feet of lord and said, ”I am an ignorant child. O’ Shiva, I want to know that in whom worhip you are always so engaged. Lord Shiva gave him Gnana and blessed him with a divine vision by which Narshi saw the river Yamuna in Vrindavan with lord Krishna dancing with the Gopis.
He was thrilled with the vision of the rasaleela, performed by the lord, in which numerous Krishna forms and numerous Gopis took each others hands, dancing in pairs. In his vision Lord Krishna even explains the truths about jeevathma and paramathma and blesses Narshi with the divine ability to compose hymns (anthems) on the lord. Narshima Mehta was always engaged in the bhakti of Lord Krishna. The Lord himself personally helped Narshimsa Mehta to get his daughter and son married comfortably. Finally, Narshima Mehta went back to the godhead.

CONCLUSION:

People worship god and Lord the supreme being because of 4 reasons:

1)   Love (the utmost point)
2)   Duty
3)   Desire
4)   Fear

Demigods are worshipped by people mainly because of their material desires as they are pleased easily but if you ask for anything being material/ immaterial from a demigod that has to be sanctioned by the Lord Krishna because he is the supreme.

So, we should engage ourselves in the bhakti of Lord Krishna, the supreme personality of Godhead, to get rid from the vicious circle of birth, diseases, old age and death because only he can help us to clear this big ocean of the material world (also called as dukhalayam).

KALIYUGA & ATTAINING GOD

KALIYUGA AND ATTAINING GOD

Dear Reader’s

We all are very fortunate that we are having means/ ways to attain God (Lord Krishna) in this Yuga of Kali, (Kali Yuga means "strife, discord, quarrel, or contention ) which is referred as the “Dark Age” or Dharma ending age because in it people are as far away as possible from God. (Kaliyuga is the fourth most consolidated age out of the four yugas i.e. Satyuga, Tretayuga, Dvaparyuga)

Let’s first understand the environment of earth before Kaliyuga:

Sat yuga: This age is also called the Golden age because all the pillars of religion were present in totality. During Satyuga all people engage only in pious, good and sublime deeds and worshipped god most of their time or I should say people were in Sattoguna (Spending most of their time in worshipping Lord Krishna), people were not interested in material sense enjoyment. In this age, people have the bodily strength of ten thousand elephants. The four incarnations of Lord Krishna in this yuga were Matsya avatar (In the form of fish), Kurma Avatar (In the form of turtle), Varaha Avatar (In the form of Boar), Narsimha Avatar (In the form of half man and half human being).

Treta yuga:  This yuga is the second yuga out of the four yugas. In this yuga the fifth, sixth and seventh incarnations of Lord Krishna as Vamana, Parashurama and Ramachandra were construed. In this yuga, human being got the opportunity to grimace (face) the Ram Rajya, the most auspicious rajya led by Lord Rama where no one was poor and everyone was happy in the kingdom of Lord Rama.

Dvapar yuga:  In this yuga, the kings would avail to the advice of the learned scholars and accordingly would maintain law and order in his empire. The king who was addicted to vices (wrong doings) would definitely end up defeated. One or two or all from Sama, Dama, Danda, Bhed and Upeksha would be brought into use and would attain the desired. Kings were diligent in maintaining public decorum and order. In this yuga only, Lord Krishna himself came to the earth to save Dharma and gave the lesson of “Bhagavad Gita” to Arjun. Lord  Krishna.

Kaliyuga:  At the end of the Dvapar Yuga, when Lord Shri Krishna renounced the world and went to Goloka, at that time Kali Yuga, the source of all chaos took birth in the minds of the ignorant. When king Yudhishtir realized the advent of the Kali Yuga that is chaos, greed, violence and lies, he expressed a desire to go to the forest and do penance. Accordingly, he abdicated the throne and coronated (crowned) his grandson Parikshit as the king.
This is the last & worst yuga out of the four yugas, according to the Vishnu Purana, he is a negative manifestation of Vishnu, who along with his extended evil family, perpetually operates as a cause of the destruction of this world. In the Kalki Purana, he is portrayed as a demon and the source of all evil.

It is stated in Srimad-Bhagavatam that in Kali-yuga the heads of government will be plunderers (looter) and thieves. These thieves and plunderers take the money and property of the public by force or connivance (consent ). Therefore it is said in Srimad-Bhagavatam, As Kali-yuga advances, we can see that these characteristics are already visible. We can certainly imagine how deteriorated human civilization will be by the end of Kali-yuga. Indeed, there will no longer be a sane man capable of understanding God and our relationship with Him. In other words, human beings will be just like animals. At that time, in order to reform human society, Lord Krsna will come in the form of the Kalki avatara. His business will be to kill all the atheists because ultimately the real protector is Visnu, or Krsna.
The modern activities of human society are described in Srimad-Bhagavatam as the activities of go-khara, cows and asses (sa eva go-kharah). Everyone is acting in a bodily concept of life involving society, friendship and love for the improvement of economic and political conditions, and thus all activities are enacted in ignorance. The Supreme Personality therefore comes to teach us how to act according to the Vedic principles. In this age of Kali, the Supreme Personality of Godhead appeared as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and preached that in this age the Vedic activities cannot be systematically performed because people are so fallen. He gave this recommendation from the sastras:
harer nama harer nama
harer namaiva kevalam
kalau nasty eva nasty eva
nasty eva gatir anyatha

“In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is chanting the holy name of the Lord. There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no other way.” The Krsna consciousness movement is therefore teaching people all over the world how to chant the Hare Krsna mantra, and this has proved very much effective in all places at all times. The Supreme Personality of Godhead appears in order to teach us Vedic principles intended for understanding Him (vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyah). We should always know that when Krsna and Lord Caitanya appeared, They appeared in suddha-sattva bodies. One should not mistake the body of Krsna or Caitanya Mahaprabhu to be a material body like ours, for Krisnna and Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared as needed for the benefit of the entire human society. Out of causeless mercy, the Lord appears in different ages in His original suddha-sattva transcendental body to elevate human society to the spiritual platform upon which they can truly benefit. Unfortunately, modern politicians and other leaders stress the bodily comforts of life (yasyatma-buddhih kunape tri-dhatuke) and concentrate on the activities of this ism (doctrine) and that ism, which they describe in different kinds of flowery language. Essentially such activities are the activities of animals (sa eva go-kharah). We should learn how to act from Bhagavad-gita, which explains everything for human understanding. Thus we can become happy even in this age of Kali.

In Nutshell, the human form of life is a boon or opportunity for us to go back to Godhead i.e. go back to Krishna, so we should engage ourselves in the bhakti of lotus feet of Sri Krishna who is very merciful and will accept out prayers done without any selfishness and should avoid ourselves from being hankering after sense gratification because of the reason that Kaliyuga is the most consolidated age .

Parents: Fame or Shame

                                                     PARENTS:  FAME OR SHAME

Dear Readers',
Personally with no doubt of body, mind and soul, parents are fame for every child obviously.

Parents can never be a shame for their child rather they all-time make their best efforts to have their child grab all the opportunities of life, live happily and earn the all time high.

Mother keeps her baby in stomach for nine months by suffering from all the pain and after birth takes care of her child by not sleeping until her baby sleeps,
By not eating until her baby eats first and doing everything to keep her child good.
Both mother and father sacrifice their whole life to have their child live a luxury life with the best sources available with them.

                                                                            &
Still parents are shame for their children after their child starts earning or as they grow old.

All the sacrifices of parents are forgot by their children and they don’t want to live with their parent anymore.

Remembering a true story of one of the parents, when their son went to America for job and was not coming back, one day his mother told him to come to the funeral of his father and the son said “ please tell me anything to done from here, as can’t come back to India”.

I still don’t understand why this happens and how parents are a liability for their children when they grow old.
If we see traditionally, India was called the “Golden bird” and children were very faithful with their parents, but now a days due to hankering after the western culture, our culture is getting into the dark and cases like these are more frequent.

But I want to highlight one thing to all my readers, that if parents are shame for any child, then even if he repents on his actions afterwards, he will not be forgiven by Lord Krishna.

REAL STORY

Once Lord Krishna (Lord Vithal or Panduranga Vittala, is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is worshipped in the world famous Pandarpur Rukmini Vithal Temple at Pandarpur in Maharashtra) was so moved by the sincere devotion of Pundalik towards his parents. He decided to visit Pundalik’s home.

When Lord Krishna visited Pundalik’s home he was serving food to his old parents.

Pundalik saw the Lord at his door but his devotion to his parents was so intense that he wanted to finish his duties first and then attend to his guest. Pundalik had reached such a stage that it didn’t matter to him whether the guest was a mere mortal or God. All that mattered was service to his parents.

[vithoba.jpg]

Pundalik gave Lord Krishna a brick to stand on and asked Him to wait until his duty was completed. Lord Krishna was moved by the devotion of Pundalik to his parents and waited for him patiently.

Later when Pundalik came out he asked the Lord forgiveness for making Him wait. Lord Krishna blessed him and asked him to ask a boon.

Pundalik said what more can I ask when the Lord himself waits for me.

When Lord Krishna insisted that he ask a boon, Pundalik asked that the Lord should remain on earth and bless and take care of His devotees.

Lord Krishna agreed to stay there and is known as Vithoba or the Lord who stands on a brick. This form of the Lord Vithoba is Swayambhu which means that His idol has not been carved or etched but it came into existence on its own.

In Nutshell, Narada Muni has said that this material world is full of Dukhalaya (Miseries) and no-one can remain happy here and he who thinks is happy here is a fool. Everyone one has to leave this material body one day and the choice is his/ her that next body will be spiritual/ material, so to get freed from this material bondage, one should chant the holy name of Lord Krishna for getting Back to Godhead in the original form of spiritual body, which is our original source.

Why only Lord Krishna ?

Online Hare Krishna Temple

Why only Lord Krishna ?

Lord Krishna is Supreme Personality of Godhead, no doubt,
I believe it, but let’s understand the reason for this :

Krishna means all attractive, because unless god is all attractive how he can be god.
God has no name, but by his qualities we give him names. If a man is very beautiful, we call him beautiful.  If a man is very intelligent, we call him wise. So the name is given according to the quality. Because god is “all-attractive”, the name can be applied only to him.

“All-attractive” includes everything i.e. very beautiful, very wise, very powerful, very famous, very rich, etc.

Nobody has the qualities of Lord Krishna, so he is all attractive to everyone.

Anyone who prays to Lord Krishna to become rich, powerful, etc will definitely get that.  Even if the evil man prays to Lord Krishna, will be elevated. It is said in the Vedas that the Absolute Truth, or the Supreme  Personality of Godhead, is the reservoir of all pleasure-raso vai sah. Everyone is hankering after someone because he realizes some mellow (taste, pleasure or rasa) in it. Suppose a man is hankering after money because by possessing money he gets a mellow out of it.

Krishna is God, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is the original and primeval person who is simultaneously expanded everywhere throughout existence and yet is still situated in His eternal abode in His original, transcendental form. He is the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-merciful being. He is the chief eternal living entity amongst all eternal living entities who are His parts. He is responsible for fulfilling all the desires of the subordinate living entities since time immemorial.

Krishna is the original name for God. Krishna has many other names according to the country, culture, and language of different peoples. To the Jews He is Yahweh, to the Christians He is Jehovah, to the Muslims He is Allah. To all He is God, the Supreme Being.
Some people think that God is the Brahman, or the formless and eternal manifestation of spiritual energy. They say everything is one and God is therefore everything and everything is therefore God. Devotees of the Lord, called Vaishnavas, accept that Krishna is not only the Brahman but a person. We do not say that Krishna is a person like you or me; on the contrary, He is the supreme Person who is all-powerful and unlimited, whereas we living entities are in every way limited. Krishna is the infinite source of all living beings and we are His eternal infinitesimal parts and parcels.

"I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts."
-Bhagavad Gita 10.8

Krishna possesses all good qualities. He is Bhagavan! He possesses all opulent qualities in the infinite degree. He is the most beautiful personality. Since He is the Supreme, He has the supreme form and personality. No one is more beautiful or attractive than He. Krishna attracts everyone. Therefore He is called Krishna, the all-attractive one. Except for the liberated souls, everyone in the material world is attracted by Cupid. But Krishna is so attractive that He not only attracts the liberated souls but He attracts Cupid as well. Krishna is the strongest personality. By His desire alone all the universes are created and destroyed by one portion of a portion of His personal form. He can do anything and everything as He likes. Krishna is also the wealthiest person since all wealth in all worlds everywhere come from Him. Everything animate and inanimate within all creation is owned and controlled by the Lord, who is the actual provider of everything. One who knows this perfectly well never claims anything as his own but uses everything in the service of the Lord.

Krishna is the most learned personality for He possesses all knowledge.
As He describes in the

Bhagavad-gita 7.26, "O Arjuna, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, I know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present, and all things that are yet to come. I also know all living entities; but Me no one knows...."

There is nothing in existence outside of Krishna since everything is the energy of Krishna, and therefore there is nothing He cannot know at any time. He is also existing within the hearts of all living entities as the Supersoul and therefore He
knows everything which they do or desire.

No one is more famous than God. Although people of this world know Him in His different forms and names, everyone is aware of the Lord. Some know about Him by worshiping Him in love and service, and some know Him by negating His existence (the atheists) but everyone knows about God. Someone may be famous for some years on this Earth planet, but he certainly may not be known on other planets or at other historical times. Krishna, God, is known in all planets in all universes throughout all time.

And finally, Krishna is the most renounced personality. He is not attached to anything in this world. The only thing which can bind Him is the loving devotional service of His devotees. And even then, if it will expand the devotee's love, He is capable of temporarily renouncing them as well, as He did with the gopis in the famous rasa dance in Vrindavan.

Sometimes God appears in this world just to show the people His original, eternal form. Sometimes He appears in other forms according to the requirements of His pastimes. More than 5,000 years ago, Krishna appeared in His original, transcendental form just to please His devotees, annihilate the miscreants, and reestablish the principles of religion. During this time on Earth, the Lord spoke Bhagavad-gita, which is one of the most famous books on this planet. In this literature, He gives the practical method to attain devotional service to His lotus feet.

The perfection of life is to attain pure, loving devotional service to the Lord. This is the real goal of all living entities. When one is perfected after a life of pure service, often attained after many, many births and deaths of endeavouring to attain real knowledge, one becomes eligible to go back to the spiritual world, the eternal abode of the Lord, which is far beyond the material realm of birth, death, old age and disease.

This verse from the Brahma Samhita describes the nature of Sri Krishna. The Brahma Samhita is Lord Brahma's (the creator of this universe) treatise on Krsna and the spiritual world.

ishvaraha parama krishnaha
sac-chid-ananda-vigraha
anadir adi govindaha
sarva-karana-karanam

Krsna who is known as Govinda is the Supreme Godhead.
He has an eternal, blissful, spiritual body.
He is the origin of all. He has no other origin
and He is the prime cause of all causes.

In Nutshell, Krishna says there are 84 Lacs species of life in this material world and we are moving in this vicious circle of birth & death again and again.
So, to get rid of this suffering,  Krishna says that the birth as a human being is the perfect gift to get back to the godhead. Krishna says in Kalyuga, the human being can get back to godhead simply by chanting his name.
